ISKCON members denied border crossing at Benapole

A man in Jashore lodged a complaint saying his 24-year-old son was picked up early today by 10-12 people in plainclothes who introduced themselves as members of the Detective Branch (DB) of police.

Jihad Hossain, 24, son of Asaduzzaman, was picked up from their house in Alamnagar Madhyapara area of Jashore's Sadar upazila around 2:00am, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

Asaduzzaman lodged a complaint with the police station following the incident.

According to the complaint, Jihad is a mason worker. Around 2:00am, some unidentified individuals came to his home and yelled his son's name. Asaduzzaman and Jihad came outside when they heard the call.

At that point, 10–12 individuals dressed in white introduced themselves as members of DB.

They said there was a complaint against Jihad and then dragged the 24-year-old into a white microbus and drove away, the complaint read.

OC Abdur Razzak said a complaint was received from Asaduzzaman. He added that he recently joined the police station as the new OC.

Jashore DB Police Sub-Inspector Mofizul Islam said they did not detain anyone called Jihad and were investigating the complaint filed by Jihad's father.
