Lalon festival held in Madhupur

The much-talked about Lalon festival was held in Tangail's Madhupur on Sunday night.

The festival was held at Madhupur Rani Bhavani Model Government High School grounds.

Lalon artists Baul Shahabul, Rashid, Nargis, Moon Monalisa, Kajal Rekha from Kushtia and regular artists of Madhupur Lalon Sangha performed at the programme.

It was supposed to be held at a local bus stand on February 12. However, due to objection from some Islamic groups, including Hefajat-e-Islam, the event was postponed.

Later, it was decided at a meeting comprising administration, joint forces, festival organisers and Islamic groups that the event will be held on February 23.
