Fakhrul demands action to find missing BNP leader Pannu

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has voiced deep concern over the disappearance of Azadul Islam Hai Pannu, president of the party's Nawabganj upazila unit in Dhaka, since January 8.

Pannu left his home in Dhaka for personal work in Rajshahi and has not been seen since.

In a statement last night, Fakhrul urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take immediate steps to locate him and ensure his safe return.

"It has been 39 days since Azadul Islam Hai Pannu went missing. He left for Rajshahi on January 8, but there has been no news of him since. His mobile phone has remained switched off. His son, Sihab Tamal, filed a general diary at Nawabganj Police Station. Authorities claim they are trying to locate him, but he has yet to be found," Fakhrul said in the statement.

Despite more than a month passing, there has been no information about his whereabouts, causing deep anxiety among his family members as well as BNP leaders and activists, the statement added.
