Fakhrul falls ill after placing wreath at National Memorial

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir fell ill after paying tribute at the National Memorial in Savar this morning.
He became unwell while speaking to journalists after placing wreaths at the memorial around 10:00am, said BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
Fakhrul was taken to Savar Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for treatment. BNP standing committee members AZM Zahid Hossain and Salauddin Ahmed accompanied him.
At 11:30am, Sayrul stated that the secretary general is currently in good health at Savar CMH.
Fakhrul was discharged around 1:14pm from the hospital from where he went to his Gulshan residence, says Sayrul.
Party sources said that he fell ill amid the crowd of party leaders and activists, prompting senior leaders to rush him to hospital for treatment.
