Eid prayers at Shat Gambuj Mosque draw thousands

From early this morning, worshippers from across the country began arriving at the historic Shat Gambuj (Sixty Dome) Mosque to attend the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Due to the large turnout, three separate congregations were arranged.
To accommodate devotees traveling from distant areas, additional prayer spaces were set up outside the main mosque courtyard, on its northern and southern sides.
The first congregation, led by Hafiz Maulana Khalid, imam and khatib of Khan Jahan Ali Shrine Jame Mosque, began at 7:30am. The second congregation, led by Maulana Md Nasir Uddin, acting imam of Shat Gambuj Mosque, took place at 8:15am. The third and final congregation was led by Maulana Md Masum Billah, lecturer at Shat Gambuj Madrasa and imam of Maulvibazar Jame Mosque.
The first congregation was attended by Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Ahsan, along with other prominent district officials.
Each congregation saw thousands of worshippers in attendance. After the prayers, devotees exchanged Eid greetings, embraced one another, and celebrated the joyous occasion, giving the entire mosque grounds a festive atmosphere.
Leaders from various political parties also attended the prayers and exchanged greetings with their supporters.
Strict security measures were implemented around the historic mosque for the occasion, with officials from the Department of Archaeology, district police, tourist police, Rapid Action Battalion, and the army deployed to ensure safety.
Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Kamrul Ahsan commented, "Our law enforcement agencies and officials from the Department of Archaeology worked together to ensure a peaceful and well-organised prayer session, preventing any disruptions."
