Editor's Council gets new executive committee

The Editors' Council (Shampadak Parishad) has formed its new executive committee with The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam as its president and Bonik Barta Editor Dewan Hanif Mahmud as general secretary.

New Age Editor Nurul Kabir and Bhorer Kagoj Editor Shyamal Dutta have been made vice presidents while Zafar Sobhan, editor of Dhaka Tribune, was made assistant general secretary and Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, editor of Manabzamin the treasurer, said a Shampadak Parishad press release today.

The five executive members of the committee are Tasmima Hossain, editor of Ittefaq; Golam Rahman, editor of Ajker Patrika; Saiful Alam, editor of Jugantor; Mozammel Haque, editor of Daily Karatoa; and MA Malek, editor of Dainik Azadi.

The new committee was formed at a meeting at The Daily Star Centre yesterday.
