Core Safari Park to stay closed for 12 days

The Core Safari Park in Sreepur, Gazipur will be closed for 12 days, from May 21 to June 2, for renovations ahead of the Eid holidays.

Md Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Safari Park, confirmed the matter to The Daily Star today.

According to the Forest Department, repairs needed to be carried out on the electrically operated gates that allow entry into the safari park via tourist minibuses. In a notice issued on May 21, the department permitted the closure.

Rafiqul Islam also said that as more people gather during Eid, renovations are needed to further enhance services during the holiday time. While the core safari section will remain off-limits during the 12-day closure, all other areas of the park will remain open to the public as usual.
