Bangabandhu’s birth anniv observed at missions abroad
Bangladesh missions in different parts of the world have celebrated the 103rd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman amid festivity.
On the day, March 17, which is also observed as National Children's Day, foreign diplomats, expatriate Bangladeshis and children took part in various activities, including essay competition, painting, discussions, books donations, cultural show, screening documentary on the life and struggles of Bangabandhu.
At an event in Washington, Ambassador Imran Ahmad urged the guardians to let their children know about the country's glorious history, culture and Bangabandhu's great sacrifice for independence.
At an event organised by Bangladesh High Commission in London, High Commissioner Saida Muna Tasneem said Bangabandhu taught how to overcome the challenges and live with dignity.
At an event organised by the Bangladesh embassy in Brussels at the BEPS International School in Brussels, Ambassador Mahbub Hasan Saleh said, "We need to sow the seeds of Bangabandhu's values among the children."
Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei Darussalam organised a programme that included presenting books on Bangabandhu to the principal of Seri Mulia Sarjana International School and a speech by High Commissioner Nahida Rahman Shumona.
Bangladesh missions in New York, New Delhi, Amman, Canberra, Rome, Colombo and other countries also celebrated Bangabandhu's birth anniversary.
