Akbar Ali Khan passes away

Akbar Ali Khan, former adviser to the caretaker government, passed away tonight at the age of 78.
He fell ill and was taken to the Evercare Hospital at 10:40pm, Kabir Uddin Khan, his younger brother, told The Daily Star over phone over phone.
He had passed away before he arrived at the hospital, said Dr Arif Mahmud, deputy director of Evercare Hospital.
Akbar held various positions in the bureaucracy. He was former cabinet secretary, former finance secretary, and also headed the National Board of Revenue.
