AAUB excels in US aerospace contest

For the first time, Aviation and Aerospace University, Bangladesh (AAUB) took part in the Design/Build/Fly (DBF) competition held in Arizona, USA, from April 10-13, said a press release.
Competing against top universities worldwide, AAUB earned 18th place in the Design Report and 36th overall, gaining international recognition for both the university and Bangladesh.
A reception was later held on May 6 at the Dhaka campus, where Vice Chancellor Air Vice Marshal AKM Manirul Bahar praised the students' creativity and perseverance.
Their UAV, capable of precision landings and launching gliders mid-air, completed 21 missions before its final demonstration on February 25.
The drone holds promise for disaster management, agriculture, and surveillance.
The VC and team leader Group Captain Dr Saifur Rahman Bakaul emphasised the importance of continued support to keep Bangladesh soaring in global aerospace innovation.
