The Dhaka South City Corporation has recommended reinstating the original names of ten institutions and establishments that were renamed after individuals associated with the ousted Awami League government.

The DSCC, during its fourth board meeting today, proposed the changes in line with the guidelines of the Local Government Division.

The proposed changes include: renaming Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni Sarani back to Inner Ring Road; Bir Muktijoddha Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Sarani to Jhauchar Main Road; Bir Muktijoddha Advocate Md Qamrul Islam Sarani to Kamrangirchar Loharpool-Buriganga Road; Shaheed Sheikh Russel Shishu Park in Kalabagan to Kalabagan Shishu Park; Shaheed Sheikh Russel Shishu Park in Jatrabari to Jatrabari Shishu Park; Mayor Sheikh Taposh Setu to Kamrangirchar Bridge; Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy Shishu Park to Shaheed Zia Shishu Park; Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon Community Center to Gendaria Community Center; Mayor Mohammad Sayeed Khokon Park to Sarafatganj Park; and Bir Muktijoddha Advocate Md Qamrul Islam Community Center to Kamrangirchar Community Center.

In the meeting, the DSCC also decided to repair potholes on different roads ahead of Ramadan to ensure smooth and comfortable movement for commuters.
