Says Liton at meeting with journalists
Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton yesterday said if re-elected he will generate more employment in the region by expanding small and medium cottage industries and arranging loans for entrepreneurs.
Liton, also presidium member of Awami League, was exchanging views with journalists at Rajshahi Nagar Bhaban.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Liton said he will resign on May 18 to contest the June 21 Rajshahi City Corporation election.
He said he is also planning to expand the 96 square kilometres city to a nearly 400sq km one.
Liton also detailed his development activities in the last five years.
He regretted that construction of some thoroughfares in different areas remained unfinished due to the negligence of some contractors.
