DU to offer 'special admission privileges' to families of July uprising victims

The University of Dhaka has announced that family members of individuals officially recognised as martyrs or injured in the July-August student-public uprising will be granted "special privileges" in undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2024–2025.

According to a press release issued by the university today, spouses, sons, and daughters of the deceased or injured will enjoy the benefits.

If there is no family members available, siblings of the victims will be eligible for the benefits.

The decision was finalised in a recent meeting of the Deans' Committee, the press release said.
