BDS admission application opens today

Applications for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) admission test for the academic year 2024-25 started today.
Aspirants can submit their applications until January 20, while the admission test is set to be held on February 28.
Prof Dr Rubina Yasmin, additional director general (Medical Education) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the information during a media briefing yesterday.
According to Prof Yasmin, candidates eligible to apply for the BDS admission test must have passed their HSC, A-level, or equivalent examinations in 2023 or 2024. However, individuals who completed their SSC, O-level, or equivalent exams before 2021 are not eligible to apply.
The written test will follow the HSC syllabus, comprising 100 multiple-choice questions. Each question carries one mark, with a total of 100 marks.
The subject-wise mark distribution is as follows: Biology - 30, Chemistry - 25, Physics - 20, English - 15, and General Knowledge (Bangladesh and International Affairs) - 10.
The duration of the test will be one hour.
