Incoming Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma calls on President
The new Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Pranay Verma, today presented his credentials to President Md Abdul Hamid.
During his call on the president following the presentation of credentials, High Commissioner Verma conveyed warm greetings of the government and the people of India to the President, highlighting the great importance attached by India to its relations with Bangladesh.
Pranay Verma said it would be his endeavour to work towards further expanding and strengthening the close and friendly relations that exist between India and Bangladesh.
He also looks forward to working closely with the Bangladesh government to realise the full potential of India-Bangladesh relations.
President Abdul Hamid congratulated the Indian high commissioner on assuming his new responsibilities and expressed hope that the ongoing robust development of bilateral cooperation between India and Bangladesh in various fields will be further strengthened in the coming times.
Later, High Commissioner Verma visited the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmondi, Dhaka to pay his respects to the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
