Dutch envoy for collaboration on youth empowerment

Dutch Ambassador for Youth, Education, and Work, Jurriaan Middelhoff, is visiting Bangladesh to enhance collaboration on youth empowerment, skills development, and entrepreneurship.

This visit is part of the Netherlands' commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation.

He has held productive discussions with Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus and Adviser for Youth & Sports, Asif Mahmud, focusing on fostering youth inclusion in decision-making and supporting young entrepreneurs.

Middelhoff arrived in Bangladesh on January 31 and is scheduled to return tomorrow.

During his visit, Middelhoff delivered keynote remarks at the Social Business Youth Summit, emphasizing the "Youth at Heart" strategy.

He engaged with students and young changemakers at Dhaka University and visited the Drik Gallery exhibition, participating in dialogue about the future of journalism in Bangladesh.

The delegation also visited Chattogram to meet female STEM students to discuss challenges and opportunities in their careers.

He also discussed skills training, gender issues and labor conditions during a visit to the RMG industries.

The ambassador also interacted with entrepreneurs from Orange Corners Bangladesh, a program dedicated to equipping young entrepreneurs to establish successful businesses.

He is scheduled to meet with the labour & employment adviser to address employment opportunities and labor conditions before he leaves.
