Trader hacked to death

A man was hacked to death by unidentified criminals in Tangail's Mirzapur upazila yesterday.

Narayan Sarkar, 50, a local vegetable trader of Nayapara village under Gorai union, was found dead at a local crop field.

Narayan left the house Wednesday night and did not return, according to his family members.

Later in the morning, locals found his body, bearing injury marks from sharp weapons.

Mirzapur Police Station OC Sheikh Abu Saleh Masud Karim said the body was sent to the Tangail General Hospital morgue for autopsy.

"Reason behind the killing could not be known immediately," he added.
