Restaurant employee shot in BCL-Jubo League clash in N'ganj
An employee of a restaurant was shot yesterday when a clash broke out between Chhatra League and Jubo League men over a trivial matter in Borpa area of Naraynaganj's Rupganj.
The injured is Billal Hossain, 45, a cook of Prince Restora, reports our Narayanganj correspondent quoting said AFM Sayed, officer-in-charge of Rupganj Police Station.
The incident took place yesterday afternoon when a group of men led by BCL leader Riaz clashed with supporters of Ward Jubo League leader Baizid following a trivial matter where a motorbike was hit by a mircobus, he said.
Restaurant owner Nadeem Saud said two groups were fighting in his restaurant and Billal got shot. He was first taken to a private hospital in Rupganj and later referred to DMCH.
Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Outpost, said Billal was brought to the hospital with a bullet wound on the left side of his stomach. He is currently undergoing treatment.
Police are trying to identify the perpetrators and arrest them, said OC Sayed.
Additional force have been deployed in the area to main law and order.
