Over 6,000 yaba pills seized from passenger at Dhaka airport
Security personnel at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport today seized a large stash of yaba pills from an outbound passenger plane.
Members of Aviation Security (Avsec), around 11:20am, spotted suspicious objects while scanning the luggage of Kazi Nayan, a Dammam-bound passenger of Flight BG-4049 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, director of the HSIA told reporters.
Avsec scanner Battalion Ansar Rony Mia and armed security guard Sahara Banu spotted the suspicious objects inside the luggage.
The passenger was later interrogated and initially 6,038 pieces of yaba pills were seized from him. Counting was going on to know the exact number.
AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan said the matter would be handed over to the Department of Narcotics Control to decide next course of action.
