Moghbazar explosion: another victim dies, death toll now 9

Another man, who sustained severe burn injuries in Sunday's explosion at Dhaka's Moghbazar, died at hospital early this morning, raising the death toll to nine.
Imran Hossain, 25, breathed his last around 6:30 am while being treated at the intensive care unit of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Dr Samanta Lal Sen, chief coordinator of the institute told The Daily Star.
He sustained 90 percent burns on his body in fire caused due to the explosion, Dr Samanta said.
Imran was a salesman of Bengal Meat store which was damaged in the explosion. He used to live in Shantinagar area with his wife, said his sister Irin Begum.
Four more injured are being treated at the burn institute. The condition of two of them -- Nur Nabi and Rasel -- are critical, doctors said.
Earlier, six persons were killed after the blast on Sunday while a man died at a Panthapath hospital the next morning. Yesterday, fire fighters recovered body of the caretaker of the building from the debris.
Accumulated gas was behind the massive explosion on the ground floor of the building, officials and experts said after primary investigation.
