Four JMB operatives arrested following gun battle in Mymensingh, Rab says
Rab claimed to have arrested four members of banned militant group Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) following a gun battle in Mymensingh early today.
Identity of the arrestees could not be known immediately.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of Rab's legal and media wing, said a gun battle took place with members of the militant group around 4:00am when the Rab team carried out a raid at Khaghdahar area on the bank of Brahmaputra river.
Later, four of them were arrested from the spot, he said, adding they have seized firearms and explosives from their possession.
Rab will hold a press briefing at the headquarters of Rab-14 battalion in Mymensingh later in the day.
