Decomposed body of unidentified person recovered from Ctg Shikalbaha canal

The River police today recovered a decomposed body of an unidentified person from the Shikalbaha canal in Patiya upazila of Chattogram.

"Locals spotted a floating body at Koi village area near Bellapara Bridge of the Shikalbaha canal and informed the police," Mohammad Mominul Islam Bhuiya, superintendent of Chattogram River Police, told The Daily Star.

"On information, police rushed to the spot this afternoon and recovered the body -- aged about 35 years old -- and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital Morgue for an autopsy," he said, reports our Chattogram staff correspondent.

A case will be filed in this regard, he added.
