Body recovered in Khulna's Shipyard area

Police recovered a man's body in the Shipyard area under Labanchara Police Station of Khulna city early today.

Md Zakir Hossain, sub-inspector of Labanchara Police Station, said that the deceased was around 27 years old. There are multiple stab wounds on his body. It seems that he was tortured before death, he added.

Officials of Khulna Metropolitan Police have since visited the scene. Special teams from the Criminal Investigation Department and Police Bureau of Investigation are working to find the identity of the deceased.

Ashraful Islam, a tenant in the area, woke up early in the morning, and when he looked behind the house to the west, he saw the body on the ground. Its hands and feet were tied and head and face were wrapped with polythene.

Then he immediately informed the Labanchara Police Station.

According to police, the deceased was found wearing blue jeans and a green t-shirt.

The body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
