Bengal Group Chairman Morshed Alam arrested

Detective Branch of police arrested Bengal Group Chairman Morshed Alam in the capital last night.
The three-time Awami League MP from Noakhali-2 was arrested during a drive in Gulshan-2 area, Rezaul Karim Mallick, additional commissioner of DMP and the DB chief, told The Daily Star.
"There are multiple cases against Morshed Alam. We are currently analysing the information related to these cases," Mallick said.
DB officials said he would be produced before a court today.
Morshed Alam was elected MP from Noakhali-2 constituency with the AL ticket in 2014, 2018, and 2024 elections.
He is also the chairman of Bengal Group of Industries and chairman of Bengal Media Corporation Ltd that owns private television Rtv.
He was the chairman of Mercantile Bank and a founding director of National Life Insurance.
