Actor Azad shot at home in Ashulia

Television actor Azizur Rahman Azad suffered bullet injuries after he was shot by unidentified miscreants at his residence in Ashulia early today.
His mother and wife also injured as the criminals physically assaulted them, said the family members.
Talking to The Daily Star, Azad's elder sister Afrina Akhter said Azad stay at the second floor of their four-storey building. At around 2:45am today, Azad heard some unusual sounds coming from their kitchen on the first floor.
When Azad went to the kitchen to check, unidentified miscreants opened fire at him. Azad was shot three times on his legs. Two bullets hit his left leg and one in the right leg, she said.
"Hearing gunfire, my mother and sister-in-law [Azad's wife] rushed to the kitchen. They found three criminals there. The criminals also beat up my mother and sister-in-law," Afrina added.
Later, the suspected criminals fired around 10 to 15 rounds of blank fire and fled the scene, she added.
"However, none of us could identify the attackers. They [the attackers] did not even take anything from the house," Afrina said.
Later, neighbours came to the house and rescued them, she said, adding that Azad was admitted to a private hospital in the capital's Uttara area.
On information, police went to the spot.
