ACC sues Hasina’s former DPS Khokon, wife

The Anti-Corruption Commission has filed two cases against Ashraful Alam Khokon, former deputy press secretary of then prime minister Sheikh Hasina, and his wife Rezwana Noor for illegally acquiring assets worth Tk 17.03 crore.

ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain confirmed this information at the commission's headquarters in Segunbagicha, Dhaka yesterday.

In each case, Khokon has been named as an accused.

Khokon was accused of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 13.34 crore. Additionally, he allegedly conducted suspicious transactions worth Tk 1.34 crore through three bank accounts under his name.

Rezwana was accused of acquiring illegal wealth worth Tk 3.69 crore. Additionally, she allegedly conducted suspicious transactions worth Tk 6.12 crore through three bank accounts under her name.

Meanwhile, ACC has filed a case against Tamal Mansur, son of former health minister Mohammed Nasim, said ACC Director General Md Akhter Hossain yesterday.

The anti-graft body found that Tamal owns 14 apartments in New York.

Additionally, the ACC has discovered that Tamal acquired illegal assets worth Tk 3,399.97 crore and has conducted suspicious illegal transactions amounting to Tk 3.37 crore across three bank accounts.
