40 BNP men sent to jail

Some 40 leaders and activists, including BNP Central Cooperative Affairs Secretary GK Gaus, have been sent to jail in Habiganj on Tuesday.

Habiganj District and Sessions Judge denied their bail and sent them to jail in their presence in connection with a police assault case.

According to court sources, the leaders and activists received a six-week anticipatory bail from the high court on January 5.

Habiganj BNP Joint Convener Enamul Selim is also among the 40 leaders and activists, said Anisur Rahman, inspector of Habiganj court.
