Police arrest driver of truck that ran over 2 schoolgirls in Fatikchhari

Police yesterday arrested the driver of a pickup that ran over and killed two school girls in Fatikchhari, Chattogram, on February 9.

Alauddin, 26, was arrested in Bayezid Bostami area in Chattogram city around 3:30 in the morning, said Rabiul Islam, OC of Fatikchhari Police Station.

Alauddin told police that he did not have a driving licence, said the officer-in-charge of Fatikchhari Police Station.

Tenth graders Mishu Akter, 16, and Nisha Moni,17, were killed when the pickup ran them over in Golgazi Dighi area on February 9.

Mishu's uncle Ayub Ali later filed a case with Fatikchhari Police Station over the incident.
