Four killed in road accidents

Four people were killed and another was injured in road accidents in three districts yesterday.

In Bogura, two motorcyclists died when an oncoming truck hit their bike at Dupchanchia bus stand.

Shakhawat Hossain Polash (48) from Bogura died instantly and his friend Soyeb Mahmud (42) from Sirajganj succumbed to his injuries on the way to a hospital, said SI Niaman Nasir of Dupchanchia Police Station.

In Chapainawabganj, a tractor driver was killed after he fell off his vehicle in Sadar upazila. Raihan Ali (20) was declared dead at Sadar Hospital, said police.

The accident happened around 8:30am as Raihan lost his control over the steering.

In Kurigram, a musician named Ashrafun Nahar Mim (18) was killed and another was injured as a lorry hit their motorbike near the town's central bus terminal, said police.

Injured Bipul Islam (30), a guitarist, was referred to Rangpur Medical College Hospital.
