DU building fire under control; D Unit entry test starts on time

A fire that broke out at the Business Studies Faculty building of Dhaka University this morning, was brought under control.

"On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control within 15 minutes," Abdul Halim, assistant director of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters, told The Daily Star.

"The fire originated from an air conditioner on the fifth floor of the building around 9:45 am, but no important documents were damaged," said DU Proctor Prof AKM Golam Rabbani.

The D Unit admission test of the university began at the scheduled time at 11:00 am, which continued till 12:30 pm.
