College student killed in Jashore motorcycle accident

A college student was killed in a collision between two motorcycles on Jashore–Sutipur road last night.
The deceased was identified as Dipu Moni, 25, from Ujirpur village in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore, Anower Hossain, officer-in-charge of Chaugachha Police Station said, adding that two people -- Sujan, 17, and Rakib, 18, -- were injured in the incident.
Babu Hossain, a relative of the deceased, said that Dipu was a first-year honours student of Jashore Government MM College.
"Last night, while returning home from an event in a motorcycle, they collided head-on with a speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction in Ghordah Jamtala intersection on the Jashore–Sutipur road near Kayemkola area," he said.
Dipu and his two companions Sujan and Rakib were injured in the collision.
At that time, Babu Hossain, who was on another motorcycle, rescued the injured and admitted them to Jashore General Hospital where Dr AKM Sujayez Hossain from the emergency department declared Dipu dead.
Rakib was admitted to the hospital, and Sujan was given primary treatment.
OC Anower said that after receiving the information, police were sent to the spot and helped rescue the injured and send them to the hospital.
