Army man killed in Dhaka road accident
An army personnel was killed in a road accident in Dhaka's Uttara area last evening.
The deceased is Md Nur Alam, a soldier in Dhaka's Army Aviation.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. The incident occurred around 3:00pm on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway in front of the Armed Police Battalion headquarters, according to police.
Sheik Rakibul Islam, inspector (investigation) of the Airport Police Station, quoting witnesses said Nur Alam was trying to cross the road when an unidentified vehicle hit him and he fell on the road. At that time, another vehicle ran over him.
He died on the spot.
His body was recovered and taken to Kurmitola General Hospital, after which army personnel transferred it to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The vehicles involved in the accident have not yet been identified.
No arrests have been made so far.
