Several private schools in Delhi received bomb threats today, an official of Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said.

After receiving the threat, the school administrations sent the students back home.

The DFS official said calls of bomb threats were received by Delhi Public School in RK Puram, G D Goenka School, Paschim Vihar, Mother Mary's School, British School, Salwan Public School, Delhi Public School and Cambridge School.

The fire officials, including the dog squads and bomb detection teams, and local police reached the schools and conducted the search operations.

As of now, nothing suspicious has been found, a police official said.

According to ANI, the threat email read "I planted multiple bombs inside (school) buildings. The bombs are small and hidden very well. It will not cause much damage to the building, but many people will be injured when the bombs detonate. If I do not receive $30,000 I will detonate the bombs."

Two months ago, several schools run by paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force across India's national capital and the country had received bomb threats via email.
