Aminul alone atop

Khandakar Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Ansar took a solo lead in the Prime Bank fifth International Rating Chess tournament securing five and a half points at the end of the sixth round at the Chess Federation auditorium yesterday.

Grand Master Ziaur Rahman and Mehdi Hasan Parag of Titas Club jointly followed the leader with 5 points each.

Saifuddin Lavlu, Mainuddin Ahmed of Leonine Chess Club and Alamgir Hossain of Anushillan were in the third position with 4.5 points each.

Amin beat Zia, Parag beat Rani Hamid, Taibur beat Minhazuddin Sagar, Arman beat Kazi Taherul Islam, Monir beat Gyesuddin Mithu, Debaraj beat Ariful Islam, Nure Alam beat Anarul Karim Bahar & Zaker beat Sanatan Zahid.

Seventh round will start today from 3:30 pm at the same venue.
