3 workers hurt in Ctg factory explosion

Three workers were injured, one critically, in an explosion at a glue factory in Chittagong city Saturday morning.
Injured Nantu Das, 22, Mridul Dey, 38, and Ranadhir Mallik, 42, were undergoing treatment at Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Condition of Nantu was stated to be critical as he suffered 45 percent burn injuries during the explosion, reports our Chittagong correspondent quoting the doctor of the hospital.
Jasimuddin, deputy assistant director (DAD) of Agrabad Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the explosion occurred at Resimax Industries in Kalurghat BSCIC industrial area around 9:30am when the workers were mixing chemicals on the ground floor of the two-storey building.
The explosion, which initiated a huge fire, left three workers injured, the DAD said.
On information, a firefighting unit of Kalurghat fire station rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 10:15am.
The extent of damaged caused by the explosion was estimated at Tk 45 lakh, factory sources said.
