167 crude bombs, explosives seized

Police seized around 167 crude bombs and a huge quantity of bomb-making materials after raiding a house in the capital's Azimpur area yesterday afternoon.
On information, a team of Lalbagh police raided a room of a tin-roofed house at New Paltan of Azimpur around 12:30pm, and recovered the bombs and bomb-making substances, including one kg of gunpowder and 15 kg of marbles, said Nurul Muttakim, officer-in-charge of Lalbagh Police Station.
They also seized some 240 crackers from the room. However, nobody was arrested in this connection.
Kamal Hossain, caretaker of the house, said two youths rented one room of the three-room house in April this year, but they did not reside there regularly. On Sunday night, boarders of an adjacent room saw the cocktails through holes in the corrugated iron sheet wall of the room, and informed the house owner of the matter.
