10 hurt in BNP factional clash
Around 10 people were injured in a clash between two factions of BNP on Jurain Commissioner Road at Kadamtali in the capital yesterday afternoon.
The clash ensued when the group, led by former lawmaker Salahuddin's son Robin, attacked the activists loyal to Kadamtali Thana BNP President Mir Hossain Miru, while the latter were trying to organise an iftar party there, said Kadamtali police.
Three motorbikes were also vandalised on the spot, said Sub-inspector Zakir Hossain.
There was a long standing feud between Miru and Salahuddin to establish supremacy in the area, said the SI while talking to The Daily Star.
The trouble makers had left the spot before the police arrived there, said SI Zakir.
However, Salahuddin said neither he nor his son were involved with the clash.
