Two stabbed in city
A sexagenarian man stabbed a woman and her teenage daughter in the city yesterday as he was refused to marry her daughter.
Badda police arrested Amin Uddin following the incident.
The injured were identified as Nasima Begum, 35, and her daughter Jharna Akter, 16.They work in a garment factory in the area.
Police said Amin intercepted Jharna and attacked her with a knife when she was going to her workplace at around 7:30am.
Nasima also came under attack as she tried to save her daughter from his attack.
Officer-in-Charge Wajed Ali of Badda Police Station said a few days ago Amin, who is a neighbour of the victims, proposed Nasima to get her daughter married with him but she refused.
On the other hand Amin's son also proposed Jharna to marry her, sources said, adding that Amin got enraged and made the attack when he came to know that the victims disclosed Amin's proposal to his son.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where they were undergoing treatment, police said.
Jharna's brother Sohel has filed a case against Amin in this regard.
