HSC results today

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent Alim and Business Management examinations 2009 held under 10 education boards will be published simultaneously today.
The results will be published at 1:00pm through respective examination centres or educational institutions, websites of all education boards and short message services (SMS), said a handout yesterday.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid will hand over the result sheets to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 12:00 noon. The education secretary and chairmen of all education boards will also be present.
The education minister will brief the newsmen at 2:00 pm today about the results, another official release said.
Examinees have been requested to collect results from their respective examination centres or educational institutions. They can also be able to get results from online at www.educationboardresults.gov.bd.
Heads of all educational institutions are asked to collect the result sheets from the officials of respective centres. Besides, the results can also be received through sending SMS to 4636 and 2323 numbers.
This year HSC examinations were held under the Dinajpur Education Board for the first time and the results are being published within 60 days of the end of the exams, said the handout.
The HSC examination, second largest public examination of the country, began on April 16. As many as 6.07 lakh students sat for the HSC and its equivalent exams under Dhaka, Rajshahi, Comilla, Jessore, Chittagong, Sylhet, Barisal, and Dinajpur boards and the madrasa board and technical education board this year.
Of them, 3.33 lakh are male examinees while 2.74 lakh female.
