Workshop on cancer, heart diseases held

A workshop for doctors titled 'Advanced Techniques with Minimal Invasive Surgery for Cancer and Heart Diseases' was held at the Uttara Club yesterday.
National Healthcare Group (NHG), owned by the Government of Singapore, organised the workshop to train local doctors in Singapore.
Speakers at the workshop said the government of Singapore will have professional consultants in its hospitals to train Bangladeshi doctors.
The patients who would receive treatment from these government-run hospitals would later go to Bangladeshi doctors for follow ups and further treatment.
Professor AK Azad Khan, President of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh, presided over the event.
Dr Peter Ashley Robless, consultant (Cardiology) and Dr Wong Lea Choung, consultant (Radio Oncology) of National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore and Dr Jaideep Taj Rao, consultant (Digestive Centre), Tan Tock Seng Hospital of Singapore, were also present.

সাধারণত বৃষ্টি নামলেই ‘আগুন’ লাগে সবজির বাজারে। সাধারণ ক্রেতাদের সাধারণত শুনতে হয় ‘বৃষ্টি’র কথা। ‘বৃষ্টির কারণেই’ সবজির দাম বাড়ে। অথচ বাংলাদেশ ট্রেড অ্যান্ড ট্যারিফ কমিশন (বিটিটিসি) বলছে ভিন্ন কথা।
