15 workshops gutted in Ctg

Fifteen metal workshops and machineries worth Tk 12 lakh were gutted in a fire at Mogoltuli in the port city in the early hours of yesterday.
Fire sources said the fire originated from an electrical short circuit at a metal workshop at Mog Pukur Par of the area at around 5:20am and soon engulfed 14 other adjoining workshops.
Seven fire fighting units from different fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after an hour-long effort.
The loss in the fire was estimated at about Tk 12 lakh, added the sources.
