3 car lifters held, 3 stolen cars recovered

Detective police arrested three car lifters from different places in the last three days and recovered three stolen private cars following their information.
The arrested are Mohammad Shamim, an alleged leader of inter-district car lifters, and his two accomplices Mohammad Harun and Jahangir.
Masudur Rahman, additional deputy commissioner of the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told The Daily Star that Shamim was arrested from Sonadanga truck stand in Khulna on October 22 and following his confession his accomplices were arrested from Cheragali in Tongi on Tuesday evening.
Following their information, the DB police recovered two stolen private cars F Premo and X Corola from Pallabi in the city.
They recovered another new G Corola private car from Balurtek in Keraniganj at around 3:00pm yesterday.
DB police said the cars are worth about Tk 50 lakh.
