Two killed in Gaibandha

Two people were killed in separate incidents in Palashbari and Gabindganj upazilas in Gaibandha yesterday.
In Palashbari, a businessman Kawser Ali, 30, was hacked to death by unknown assailants at Hossainpur.
Police said the assailants intercepted Kawser at 1:00am while he along with his business partner Mithu Mia returning home from neighbouring Ghoraghat upazila.
The criminals first hit Kawser on his head and then stabbed him indiscriminately, killing him on the spot.
Later, police held Mithu suspecting his involvement in the killing.
In another incident, Badsha Mia, 60, was slaughtered by unidentified assailants at Kutrapara village in Gabindganj upazila when he was irrigating the fields.
