Nokia Baishakhi Music Mela at Banani
To celebrate 'Pahela Baishakh,' Nokia held a concert at Banani society field on April 14. Titled "Nokia Baishakhi Music Mela," the event featured performances by Warfaze, Miles, Artcell, Dolchhut and Arnob. This was the third concert by Nokia on Baishakh.
The first band to perform was Dolchhut with Bappa Majumder as the lead vocalist. The band performed some of its hit numbers including "Bioscope," "Gaari choley na," "Baaji" and "Mon chhuechho."
Next on stage was Arnob and friends. Arnob started the performance with the popular folk number "Mon torey parlam na bhujaitey," Arnob also performed "Tomar jonyo," "Hok kalorab" and "Shey je boshey achhey." Two folk songs -- "Shonaar moina pakhi" and "Nao chharia dey" were also performed by the group. Nazia, a member of the group, rendered a solo, "Amaye bhashaili rey.”
Artcell delivered an energetic performance with Lincon as the vocalist. Songs performed by the band included -- "Anyo shomoy," "Poth chola," "Dukkho bilash," "Odekha swargo," "Chilekothar sepai," "Oniket prantor" and "Utshober utshahey."
Renditions by Miles included "Jaala," "Chand tara," "Piyashi mon," "Hello Dhaka," "Dhikhi dhiki agoon joley" and "Shesh thikana.”
The prime attraction of the concert was the performance by Warfaze. At the programme the latest album by Warfaze was launched. Titled "Poth Chola," the album is a compilation of the best songs by the band including new tracks -- "Tomakey" and "Omanush." Other songs featured in the album are -- "Boshey achhi," "Obak bhalobasha," "Hotasha," "Nei proyojon," "Shadhikaar," "Joto durey," "Dhushor manchitro," “Asha," "Shomoy," "Oshamajik" and "Poth chola."
After the CD launch Warfaze performed some of their mega hits.
