ACC Chairman's resignation
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Lt Gen (retd) Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury stepped down from his position on April 2.
''I think you all know the situation now prevailing, there's no need for me to explain it,'' said Mr. Chowdhury to reporters, before leaving the ACC headquarters. He said, ''I would like to talk with you about two topics today. First, I've resigned by the will of Allah and the second, I express my gratitude and thanks to the journalists for extending me cooperation in discharging my duties over the last two years.''
The caretaker government, we think, deserves thanks for the anti-graft drive during its two-year tenure.
