Independence Day Award goes to four

Four eminent personalities have been nominated for the Independence Day Award -2009 in recognition of their glorious role at national level.
The selected persons are: Abdul Goffar Chowdhury (literature), Abdul Matin (culture), Professor A M Harun-or Rashid (science and technology) and Ivy Rahman (posthumous --social welfare).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will honour the dignitaries in a programme at Osmani Memorial Hall on March 25 in the capital, according to an official handout released yesterday.
