Trader freed on ransom but feels insecure
An abducted trader, who bought freedom on payment of Tk 2 lakh as ransom after two hours of abduction Friday evening, is now feeling insecure after lodging a complaint with police.
Businessman Mizanur Rahman Kajol was kidnapped at gunpoint by a gang of about six criminals led by Sarafat Ali, from Teligangdia village in Daulatpur upazila at about 7:00pm, police said. The criminals took him to a nearby Padma shoal and demanded Tk 2 lakh as ransom. He bought freedom by paying the money.
Later, Kajol filed a case with Daulatpur Police Station accusing Sarafat, Sukur Ali, Kalu, Ziar Ali and Gaffar. The criminals are now threatening him with the dire consequences.
When contacted, Daulatpur police said they are investigating the matter.
