Hasina seeks Chinese investment in power sector
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sought Chinese investment in power and road communications sectors as a six-member Chinese delegation, led by CPC central committee vice-minister Liu Hongcai, met her at her Jamuna official residence in the city yesterday.
Briefing reporters about the meeting, PM's press secretary Abdul Kalam Azad said the prime minister told the delegation that Bangladesh believes in One-China Policy and attaches importance to its relations with China.
Hasina also stressed the need to maintain peace in the region for development and welfare of the two countries.
The delegation leader hoped that the bilateral relations between Dhaka and Beijing as well as Awami League and Communist party of China (CPC) would be further developed under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zheng Qingdian was present.
