Court staff held for taking Phensidyl

Zahidul Islam Apu, a bench assistant (peshkar) of the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court-16 in Dhaka, was detained yesterday as he took contraband Indian Phensidyl syrup on the court premises.
When a team led by Metropolitan magistrate AEM Ismail Hossain was destroying the contraband items on the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's court premises in the afternoon, Apu picked up a bottle of Phensidyl and started taking the syrup.
Magistrate Ismail saw Apu taking Phensidyl and ordered the court staff to detain him. The magistrate later handed over Apu to Nazir (court keeper).
Sources said Apu will be handed over to Kotwali police station.
