CID probes unveil mysteries of over 200 cases
Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probes into around 200 pending cases in the last one year unveiled mysteries behind the lawsuits which the investigators of other branches failed to do.
Of the cases, the investigators unearthed the mysteries of over 100 clueless cases, CID sources said yesterday.
Besides, they also unfolded the concealment of over 80 cases despite the investigators of the detective branch (DB) and different police stations submitted final reports due to their failure to detect the criminals.
Sources further said that they decided to inform the police headquarters mentioning the failure of the officials of the DB and police stations in this connection.
CID chief Additional Inspector General Md Javed Patwari said they have rewarded the investigators who did outstanding performance in the inquiries, while demoted some officials for not performing up to the satisfaction.
"During the last one year, the CID dissolved a total of 1053 cases. Many of them had been pending for over 18 years," he added.
Asked, he said in the past, many of the cases could not be dissolved for lack of coordination among the investigation officers (IOs) as well as between the IOs and supervision officers (SOs).
Javed further said, "At present, there is no scope of keeping the cases pending as the IOs must have to be accountable to the senior officials."
